Eurovision 2025 Format & Fixtures
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest will follow last year’s format, consisting of three main stages: two Semi-Finals and the Grand Final. The contest is set to take place in Basel, Switzerland after Swiss singer Nemo won last year’s competition with his song ‘The Code’.
While 38 countries from the EBU are confirmed, most songs will be announced between February and March.
In the Grand Final, which will be held on the 17th of May, all 26 countries will take the stage. These include the top countries from each Semi-Final and the ‘Big Five’ countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) which qualify automatically every year.
Voting will be split 50% between public votes (via phone, text, or the Eurovision app) and 50% from professional juries. Viewers can’t vote for their own country.
The official format for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest is as follows:
🎤 Event | 📅 Date | ⏳ Time | 📍 Venue |
🎶 Semi-Final 1 | 13th May 2025 | 21:00 CET | St.Jakobshalle Arena, Basel, Switzerland |

Eurovision Betting Odds 2025
Before engaging in Eurovision Song Contest betting, you must understand the competition’s format and the odds.
The odds for betting on the Eurovision tell you the estimated likelihood of a country achieving a specific outcome. While this typically refers to the winning country, Betiton also provides the odds for other outcomes, such as the winners of each semi-final, the top 10 countries, or the top countries from the Big Five.
Betiton Ireland uses the fractional odds format, which tends to be the most familiar format among our Irish punters. However, you can also view odds in the decimal or American format.
Eurovision Betting 2025 Favourites
According to the latest odds for betting on the Eurovision Song Contest, Belgium are the favourites to win. Belgium last won the Eurovision in 1986 with the song ‘J’aime la vie’ by 13-year-old singer Sandra Kim. This was the only win for Belgium, and the closest they came to winning again was in the 1978 competition when they placed second with Jean Vallée’s song, ‘Viens l’oublier’.
The official song Belgium will be competing with will be announced on the 1st of February at the Eurosong 2025. Although we don’t know who will represent Belgium this year, the country is leading the betting odds across all major bookmakers.
Sweden is the second favourite to win the Eurovision, even though we don’t know which artist will represent the country this year. The official song will be selected on the 8th of March at the Melodifestivalen. However, given the country’s previous success in past contests and Loreen’s double Eurovision win, it’s no surprise that Sweden is one of the favourites.
Similarly, Ukraine’s song will be announced in February, but it’s also one of the favourites with good odds of winning. Italy has similar odds at the moment, but Belgium and Sweden are the strongest contenders.

Something you’ll want to remember about live Eurovision betting is that the odds change rapidly. You can place live bets until all the entries have performed their songs. Moreover, live betting also offers several markets, such as the competition winner, the country with the highest score, or the number of points scored by each country.
Best Eurovision Betting Tips by Betiton Ireland
Like any form of sports betting, Ireland Eurovision betting is always risky because the competition is unpredictable. The Eurovision 2024 betting odds change regularly, and it’s not uncommon to see a country go from being the favourite to win to the bottom of the top 10 list within a few weeks.
Having said that, it’s important to remember the risk of Eurovision 2024 betting and use the following tips to ensure the best odds:
- Do basic research on Eurovision rather than relying solely on Eurovision betting odds. Look up past winners and countries which placed second and third in previous editions.
- Compare odds from different bookmakers and base your predictions on the most recent Eurovision Song Contest betting odds.
- Consider the language factor. Based on every performance in Eurovision history, English is the most successful language of choice for a Eurovision song.
- Consider the political climate in Eurovision voting. Many nations are known to vote for neighbouring countries.
- Remember to set a budget for Eurovision betting and avoid betting outside your means. Always stick to your budget and never chase your losses.
