Eurovision 2025 Host
As a keen Eurovision Song Contest betting fan, you must know that St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, has been officially announced as the host city for the 2025 Song Contest. This was an automatic selection following the country’s third victory in the 2024 Eurovision with the song ‘The Code’ performed by singer and songwriter Nemo.
All three live shows will be held in St. Jakobshalle, presented by Hazel Brugger, Sandra Studer, and Michelle Hunziker for the final show. Basel will host the contest for the first time, welcoming thirty-seven countries as Moldova announced their withdrawal in January 2025.
2025 Eurovision Format & Fixtures
The 2025 Song Contest will be the 69th edition with the same format as last year’s event. A slightly different format was announced in 2024 with the return of Montenegro. As of last year’s contest, the Big Five countries – the ones that automatically qualify every year – also perform in the semi-finals. Additionally, voting is open throughout the final show, as opposed to previous years, where it opened after every song had been performed.
This year’s event will have three live shows, including two Semi-Finals and a Grand Final. The First Semi-Final will have 15 participating countries, while the remaining 16 will perform in the Second Semi-Final. The top 10 countries from both Semi-Finals, the Big Five countries and last year’s winner will progress to the Grand Final, which will be held on the 17th of May 2025. This means 26 countries will be performing in the final show.

Here’s an overview of the schedule for this year’s Eurovision:
📌 Fixture | 📅 Date | ⏳ Starting Time |
Semi-Final 1 | 13th May 2025 | 21:00 CEST |
Semi-Final 2 | 15th May 2025 | 21:00 CEST |
Grand Final | 17th May 2025 | 21:00 CEST |
Eurovision 2025 Betting Odds
Eurovision Song Contest betting odds show the probability of an outcome, whether it’s the winning country or the one finishing last. Odds can be displayed in decimal, American, or fractional formats at Betiton.
The fractional format is the default at Betiton Canada, though you can switch formats in the top-right menu. For example, if Croatia’s odds to win are 3/1, a $10 bet would return $40 ($30 profit plus your $10 stake) if successful.
Using the decimal format, if Croatia’s odds are 4.25, a $10 bet would return $42.50 if successful (stake multiplied by the odds).

2025 Eurovision Favourites to Win
According to the latest Eurovision betting winner odds, bookmakers have predicted Belgium to take victory home. Although the official song hasn’t been submitted yet, Belgium is the clear favourite, with current odds of 7/2. Belgium has only won the Eurovision once, nearly 40 years ago, with the song J’aime la vie. The competing song will be announced on the 1st of February at the Eurosong 2025.
The second favourite is Israel, with current odds of 10/3. Once again, the song hasn’t been chosen but its release is expected in March. The Israeli singer Yuval Raphael has been selected to represent the country.
The third favourite is Sweden, which was previously predicted to come in second place but was moved down the list by one position. Their current odds are 5/1. Like Belgium and Israel, the Swedish song hasn’t been chosen yet. However, it’s no surprise that Sweden is high on the favourites list, considering they won the contest seven times. Their most recent winner, Loreen, won the Eurovision twice.
When betting on Eurovision, remember that the provided odds and predictions are based on previous stats and as such are probabilities.

Eurovision Song Contest Betting Markets
Now that you know how to bet on the Eurovision Song Contest, we’ll briefly explain the different betting markets. Like most types of sports betting, there are various markets and bet types, from simpler bets like Eurovision winner betting to ACCA bets.
Below are the most popular 2025 Eurovision betting markets:
- Outright Winner – Most people who bet on the Eurovision bet on the country they think will win the contest. This is the simplest betting market to understand, although it’s difficult to predict correctly.
- Country to Win the 1st Semi-Final – This is a bet on which country you think will win the first semi-final. It doesn’t matter if the country doesn’t win the Eurovision; it simply needs to place first in the semi-final for your bet to win.
- Country to Win the 2nd Semi-Final – The same kind of betting market described above, but for the second semi-final.
- Top Balkan Country – A bet on which Balkan country will get the best results. The participating Balkan countries are Croatia, Greece, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, and Moldova.
- Top Big 5 Country – The Big 5 countries are Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Regardless of the previous year’s results, these countries automatically qualify for the Eurovision Grand Final. Betting on the top Big Five country is a bet on which of these five countries you think will achieve the best result.
Live Eurovision Betting 2025
Live 2025 Eurovision betting refers to placing wagers while the contest is taking place. Live betting can be done from the start of the first song until the final performance. The Eurovision betting odds in live betting usually change drastically once the performances begin.
One of the advantages of live Eurovision betting is that you can assess an artist’s performance, like their stage presence, vocals, and even audience reactions while watching the show. This means you’ll be able to make more informed betting decisions based on this knowledge. However, the Eurovision odds usually offer smaller returns when betting live.
2025 Eurovision Betting Tips by Betiton Canada
Sports betting isn’t an entirely random type of betting like playing a slot machine, but the element of chance is always there. Even with the right knowledge and expert predictions, winning your bet is not guaranteed.

The same can be said for Eurovision betting, so it’s important to keep in mind that it’s impossible to get correct predictions every time. With that in mind, we’re sharing our best betting Eurovision tips to help you ensure the highest odds of success and perhaps help you avoid some rookie mistakes.
- Do your research on the participating countries and the artists representing them.
- Take into account past wins for each nation, but also consider the number of times the country placed second or third.
- Consider the song’s language. According to Eurovision statistics, English songs tend to perform better than songs in other languages.
- Remember that betting odds on Eurovision change regularly, especially after the first live show.
- Don’t just bet on the song you like the most; base your bets on expert predictions, odds, and your own research.
- Understand this year’s Eurovision format with the new changes that have been announced, particularly the voting system. Remember, viewers can now start voting from the first song in the Grand Final rather than waiting for voting time to open after the last performance.
- Consider both pre-match bets and live Eurovision bets. Both types of bets offer pros and cons, so you might want to consider trying a combination of both.
- Always bet within your means. Set a budget for betting on the Eurovision and use the right tools to ensure you stick to it. Never gamble with money you can’t afford to lose.
- Never chase your losses if your bets aren’t successful.
